Chatting with Chai: VOLUME 2
Happy Monday, y’all!
Seriously, where did this past month go?! It feels like it as the first week of June that I was writing Volume 1; blinked my eyes and now it’s July!
Have you ever gone on back-to-back vacations with maybe like a few days or a week in between? When you travel too much, sometimes you get tired of traveling. Anyone? Well, that’s how it was with me and being sick. I got the flu and then I got pink eye and bronchitis two weeks later. I’m just sick and tired of being sick and tired, literally.
June was the first month ever that we had three sick kids under three. And boy, was it hard. They were all needed and wanted mom, but to be honest, mom wanted a nap because she was sick herself. Thankfully, I have an amazing husband who does amazing things for his family. We are also lucky to live close to a set of grandparents that were able to chime in and help when I couldn’t even see because of the pink eye! Honestly, it takes a village sometimes.
Needless to say, the blog and Facebook was almost at a standstill. I tried to keep up with Instagram, but it was still hard to get a lot of engagement going! Anyway, here’s what we’ve been up to recently:
Reading: Especially because of pink eye, I had to take a hiatus on reading and work on taking care of myself. I was, however, able to read up on a couple of posts by Coffee + Crumbs. Thoroughly enjoyed reading heart-felt, well-written posts by fellow moms.
Listening: I’ve been listening to a lot of positive mental attitude (PMA) and leadership podcasts. It’s kind of amazing how much learning from leaders can impact your daily life. I grew up learning from leaders and am married to one sooo I have no choice but to start implementing what I’m hearing!
Watching: I finally finished watching OITNB. I saw another mom on an Instastory watching and realized that I never got around to watching the latest season. And if you know how Season 4 ended, you know that I had to watch what happened next! It just sucked me in as I was washing bottles and dishes. This brought up a good conversation with my hubby about what makes a good show. We came to the conclusion that it’s all about character development, relatability, and character engagement. (Yea, we’re a bunch of nerds.) What constitutes a good show for you? Are you in it for the drama? suspense?
Working on: We finally moved things around to start a photo studio for me in the house. Once it’s finally up and running, I plan to be shooting pictures and videos for the blog. I am so excited for this!
Tomorrow is July 4th and honestly, we have no plans. Our kids go to sleep early and they’re still very frightened of loud noises. To be honest, we’re completely okay with the early bedtime; Sanj and I are able to spend the (holi)day however we want! Hope you guys have a safe and fun July 4th! Lots more coming in July!!
What about you? What have you been up to lately?
